Jabil Circuit Opens in Tokyo
St. Petersburg, FL
Jabil Circuit, Inc., a leading global Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, today announced the establishment of Jabil Circuit Japan in Tokyo.
The new location in Japan will provide Japan-based OEMs access to Jabil's comprehensive global services including design, new product introduction, materials and technology management. The new location will also serve as a portal to Jabil's cost-competitive manufacturing infrastructure around the world.
"An increasing number of forward-thinking Japanese companies are pioneering new relationships with EMS providers. Jabil's new Japan location will provide local support for the development of new products and will be a customer access point to our global manufacturing infrastructure," said Tim Main, Jabil President and CEO. "The future for outsourcing in Japan is promising and we anticipate growing demand for Jabil's well-developed global solution."
The Japan office will focus on developing partnerships with Japanese OEMs, some of which have recently begun to turn to outsourcing. By procuring Jabil's design, manufacturing and direct fulfillment capabilities, Japan-based OEMs can achieve faster time-to-market, reduce capital equipment and staff resources and better focus on product competencies, such as conceptualizing next generation products.
"Our Tokyo office is the beginning of a bright future for Jabil's activity in Japan. We will also focus on potential acquisition opportunities in Japan. We are very excited about our entry into this market and believe there is much opportunity to support OEM requirements inside and outside of Japan," said Rick Evans, Senior Director, Asia/Pacific Business Development.
